Finance Director

Job Summary: The Director of Finance has the responsibility of insuring the Church’s financial operations are processed and reported accurately and with integrity. This will include but not be limited to responsibility for the oversight, management, and leadership in the areas of finance, internal controls and auditing for the entire ministry. The successful accomplishment of this position supports the mission of New Hope Ministries.

 ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Assist in maintaining the highest possible ministry standards and professional ethics in accordance with the goals, mission and purpose New Hope Ministries
  • Support the leadership of New Hope Ministries, contributing to the spirit of unity among the staff and congregation.
  • Church Financial Operations:
    Manage all financial reporting, maintaining books and records, monitoring cash position, overseeing accounts payable, coordinating annual budget process and ongoing ministry budget review, assuring compliance with all federal, state and local tax laws, liaison for accounting vendor support, overseeing bank reconciliation, managing payroll operations, maintaining church fixed asset records.
  • Insurance and Benefits:
    Work with Church Administrator to reviewing, analyzing and maintaining all facets of property insurance, workers compensation insurance, health insurance and other employee benefits.
  • Donor Operations:
    Oversee and report on weekly giving, reviewing annual giving, producing year end giving reports, maintaining tax reporting requirements.
  • Reporting:
    Responsible for reporting to and liaising with the Church Administrator, Board of Directors and Senior Pastor on regular basis. Prepare and publish timely weekly, monthly and annual financial statements
  • Be able to analyze and interpret financial data for the purpose of improving systems and maximizing overall financial performance.

  • Finance or Accounting degree preferred
  • A minimum of 5 years accounting experience. Church related financial management experience preferred

Strong knowledge and ability in financial accounting, control and reporting within a non-profit environment

CHILDREN’S MINISTRY DIRECTOR

 

Job Summary: To provide direction, management and development of the Children’s Ministry at New Hope Ministries for infants through fifth grade. Responsible for working with New Hope Ministries staff, volunteers, curriculum, facilities, programming, and budgets to execute the vision of the Senior Pastor and the mission of New Hope Ministries. Focused on training kids to change their world one friend at a time.

 ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Recruit and develop leadership team
  • Identify, train, develop, and staff ministry volunteers for successful ministry
  • Work with Director of Education in providing program development oversight to maximize the effectiveness of curriculum
  • Optimize environment for safety, risk management and age-appropriate learning engagement best practices
  • Establish and maintain communication systems with Parents, NHM staff and volunteers
  • Manage ministry budget and resources

 ADDITIONAL AREAS OF RESPONSIBILITY

  • Planning and execution of annual children’s outreach events e.g. Vacation Bible School

 QUALIFICATIONS

  • 2-5 Years of experience in a Children’s Ministry Leadership or related ministry leadership role

  • Track record of confidentiality with sensitive information and accountability with resources
  • Computer skill – working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite, Internet Technologies including Social Media
  • Bachelors Degree preferred
